Science. Technology.
Better diagnostics.

I'm a Biomedical Scientist at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, exploring how AI and automation will reshape laboratory medicine. HCPC registered, IBMS specialist portfolio in progress.

HCPC Registered IBMS Member MSc Biomedical Science Clinical Chemistry Molecular Diagnostics

From Lagos PCR labs to NHS clinical chemistry

My career began in clinical laboratory medicine in Nigeria, where I worked across haematology, microbiology, and blood transfusion services before moving to the frontlines of COVID-19 molecular diagnostics — performing high-throughput RT-PCR, RNA extraction, and quality management in partnership with the Lagos State Biobank and the Global Emerging Pathogens Treatment Consortium.

Today, I deliver rapid clinical chemistry services within the NHS, working across routine and specialist biochemistry, quality assurance, and point-of-care testing. My UK experience spans both private sector laboratory services (Eurofins) and the NHS, giving me perspective across commercial and public healthcare diagnostics.

I believe the next decade will fundamentally transform how diagnostic services are delivered. The scientists who understand both the bench and the technology will lead that change.

What I bring to the table

Clinical Chemistry

Routine and specialist biochemistry analyses, result validation, critical value identification, UKAS-aligned quality standards.

Molecular Diagnostics

RT-PCR, RNA extraction (automated and manual), master mix preparation, GeneXpert molecular testing, high-volume sample processing.

Quality Management

EQA/IQA programmes, ISO 9001 audit preparation, NCDC accreditation, internal quality control design, laboratory documentation systems.

Laboratory Operations

Supply chain management, inventory systems (FIFO), LIMS, equipment troubleshooting, staff supervision and training.

AI and Innovation

Actively exploring AI applications in diagnostic workflows, result interpretation, QC automation, and laboratory efficiency optimisation.

Cross-System Perspective

Experience across NHS, private UK labs (Eurofins), and Nigerian healthcare systems — understanding both commercial and public sector diagnostics.

Where I'm heading

AI in Diagnostics

How machine learning and automation can improve turnaround times, reduce errors, and augment clinical decision-making in the laboratory.

Health Innovation

Building at the intersection of biomedical science and technology — from workflow optimisation to digital health tools.

Global Health Impact

Connecting diaspora expertise with healthcare development opportunities across Africa and emerging markets.

Thought Leadership

Writing and sharing insights on the future of laboratory medicine, the role of AI, and lessons from building across two continents.

How I can help

Beyond my NHS role, I work with laboratories, health startups, and diagnostic organisations on the challenges that sit at the intersection of biomedical science and technology.

01

AI Workflow Consulting

Helping laboratories identify where AI and automation can reduce turnaround times, improve quality control, and optimise operations — grounded in real bench experience, not theory.

02

Laboratory Process Optimisation

Quality management system reviews, SOP development, and operational efficiency audits drawing on experience across NHS, private UK, and international laboratory settings.

03

Health Innovation Advisory

Strategic guidance for health startups and diagnostic companies building products for clinical environments — bridging the gap between what technologists build and what laboratories actually need.

Currently taking on select consulting projects alongside my NHS role. If you think we could work together, start a conversation below.
